WHAT'S POPPIN'

🍀 Boston’s Ultimate St. Paddy’s Day Guide: Parades, Parties & Pints! 🍻

South Boston St Paddy's Day Parade on Broadway

What Is It – St. Patrick’s Day, celebrated every March 17th, honors the legacy of Saint Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint, who is credited with bringing Christianity to the Emerald Isle. Over the centuries, the holiday has evolved from a religious feast into a full-blown cultural celebration, filled with parades, music, and, of course, plenty of Guinness!

💚 Boston Loves St Paddy's – Did you know Bostonians were the first to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in North America? On March 17, 1737, as a gesture of solidarity among the city’s new Irish immigrants, Boston’s Irish community gathered to celebrate their homeland and honor Saint Patrick. Today, Boston’s deep Irish roots make it one of the best cities in the world to celebrate, with historic traditions, epic parties, and one of the biggest St. Paddy’s parades in the country.

🌟 Hidden Gem: Polcari’s Coffee Is The Best Vintage Coffee Shop In Boston ☕

Polcari's Coffee shop is a historic Italian family-owned shop in the North End

💛 What Is It? - Tucked away in Boston’s historic North End, Polcari’s Coffee is a timeless neighborhood staple that has been serving up some of the best coffee in the city since 1932. Originally founded by Anthony Polcari, this beloved coffee shop has been a go-to spot for both locals and visitors looking for freshly roasted coffee, unique global beans, and an authentic vintage vibe. Here, you’ll be transported back in time—the smell of rich coffee fills the air, shelves are stocked with specialty flavors, and the warm, welcoming staff makes every visit feel personal.

Handground Coffee & Italian Treats - At Polcari’s, quality is everything. They sell coffee by the pound, hand-ground right in front of you, with beans sourced from around the world—including Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, and even the rare 100% Hawaiian Kona. If you love flavored coffee, they’ve got classics like Hazelnut, Amaretto, Chocolate, and more seasonal favorites. Beyond coffee, Polcari’s is famous for its Italian Lemon Slush. On a warm Spring Day enjoy a cup of their fresh, tangy slush while strolling through the North End!

✔️ Pro tip: Their coffee is often cheaper than grocery store brands, so stock up while you’re there. Most locals go for their signature Italian coffee brewed in a moka pot for the richest, most flavorful cup.
