WHAT'S POPPIN'

Your Guide to Head of the Charles 2024 🌊

The regatta attracts around 400,000 spectators each year

The Head of the Charles Regatta is back in Boston this weekend!

✨ What is it? - Since 1965, the Head of the Charles Regatta has been crowned the world's largest three-day regatta. This year, Boston will see over 11,500 athletes from 28 countries competing on the Charles River, showcasing everything from seasoned veterans to young rising stars.

🚣🏻 Get hyped! - Friday kicks off with veteran races, but things heat up on Saturday and Sunday with tons of races featuring local college teams like Harvard and BU, plus international competitors. Look out for over 100 Olympians, including local medalists, and don’t miss the first-ever exhibition race by the Survivor Rowing Network! Enjoy tasty bites from local vendors and check out the FALS Bar for drinks (21+).

πŸ€“ Best viewing spots - Catch all the action from great viewing spots like the Boston University Bridge and Weeks Footbridge, where about 400,000 spectators cheer on the rowers. Admission for the Reunion Village is $15 (free for kids under 12), while the FALS Bar is 21+ and free to enter. Swing by the WBUR tent for hot coffee samples and a chance to meet local radio hosts.

🚊 Getting there - Public transit is your best bet: take the T, a bus, or bike and ride along the scenic river paths. Parking can be tricky, so consider carpooling or ridesharing with friends for a stress-free arrival!

It’s going to be an unforgettable weekend on the Charles!
