Boston’s Tree Lighting Ceremonies Are Here! 🌟
Looking for a festive way to kick off the holiday season? Boston’s iconic tree lighting ceremonies are just around the corner, bringing sparkle, music, and holiday cheer to the city. Here's where you can catch the magic:
🎄 Columbus Park Tree Lighting
When: Monday, November 25, 5:00 PM
Where: Columbus Park, 110 Atlantic Ave
The Mayor will flip the switch on 50,000 blue and white LED lights illuminating a 260-foot trellis and 14 nearby trees in Columbus Park. The waterfront park will transform into a breathtaking light garden to enjoy through the season.
🎅 Faneuil Hall Marketplace Tree Lighting
When: Tuesday, November 26, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Where: Faneuil Hall Marketplace, 1 S Market St
Join Santa for the lighting of the massive Christmas tree at Faneuil Hall! The festivities include music, entertainment, and festive treats like hot chocolate, clam chowder, and cookies. At 6:00 PM, the lights will shine bright—be sure to join in the holiday sing-along!
🎁 Copley Square Tree Lighting
When: Monday, November 27, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Copley Square, 560 Boylston St
The historic Old South Church bell will toll as Copley Square lights up with festive wreaths and the main tree's holiday glow. Expect appearances from Santa and Rudolph, live music by the Boston Children’s Chorus and the Boston Pops Esplanade Brass Ensemble. After the ceremony, head over to the Fairmont Copley Plaza for photos with Santa and a sweet treat!
🎅 Boston Common Tree Lighting
When: Thursday, December 5, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Boston Common, near the Visitors Information Center, Tremont St
Boston’s iconic Christmas tree, gifted from Nova Scotia, will be lit up in a ceremony with Mayor Michelle Wu, Santa, and Rudolph. The evening will feature live performances and lots of holiday cheer as the holiday lights take over Boston Common and surrounding areas.
🌉 Public Garden and Commonwealth Ave Lights
When: Thursday, December 5, 8:00 PM
Where: Public Garden and Commonwealth Ave
Right after the tree lighting on Boston Common, the holiday lights will spread across the Public Garden, with white lights twinkling on trees and the Lagoon Bridge creating a winter wonderland. The Commonwealth Avenue lights will also shine bright!
🎶 Seaport Common Tree Lighting
When: Friday, December 6, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Where: Seaport Common, 85 Northern Ave
Head over to Seaport Common for an evening of live music, festive treats from nearby restaurants, and giveaways. The Christmas tree lighting takes place at 7:30 PM, marking the start of the holiday season in the Seaport!
