Downtown Providence transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle as over 80 bonfires blaze along the rivers, illuminating the night with attendance ranging from 40,000 to 100,000 visitors per lighting. Stroll along the riverwalk, enjoy live performances, savor local food vendors, and immerse yourself in this sensory experience. It's the perfect summer night adventure, all within a short road trip from Boston.

🚆 Commuter Rail From Boston To WaterFire Providence

No car? No problem! Hop on the MBTA Commuter Rail's Providence/Stoughton Line from Boston's South Station directly to Providence Station, which is just a short walk from the WaterFire festivities. The journey takes approximately 1 hour, with trains running regularly throughout the weekend. For exact departure times, check the MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line schedule. Also, take advantage of the MBTA $10 Weekend Pass, offering unlimited rides on all Commuter Rail lines every Saturday and Sunday. You can purchase the pass via the MBTA mTicket app, at ticket windows in major stations, or onboard the train.
