HIDDEN GEM

Warm Up at This Hidden Speakeasy: Backbar 🥂

Backbar Main Room pictured left, and specialty drinks pictured right

Looking for a cozy and unique spot to unwind in Boston? Backbar, tucked away in Somerville’s Union Square, is the perfect hidden gem.

🍷 What makes it special? - This quirky speakeasy has become a local favorite, thanks to its nerdy decor (think Star Wars memorabilia, artistic meme renditions, and retro tchotchkes) and a cocktail menu that’s anything but ordinary. The vibe at Backbar is laid-back, but what really stands out is the rotating drink menu, which keeps things fresh and fun. From their meme-themed menu to innovative cocktails, everything is thoughtful and delicious.

😍 Affordable fun - The best part? Backbar offers drinks that rival the top cocktail bars in the city but at a fraction of the cost. Whether it’s a casual hangout with friends or a special night out, this spot offers the perfect balance of creativity, affordability, and fun. If you’re not sure what to order, just tell the bartender your flavor preferences, and they’ll craft a drink just for you. It’s a place where guests can expect great vibes, excellent drinks, and a unique experience every time.

🚪 Getting there - Find Backbar through the orange door in the alley between The Independent and Bronwyn (7 Sanborn Ct, Union Sq).
